About Us...
NoMercury is a philanthropic
based venture whose mission is to educate policy makers, physicians
and the public regarding the dangers associated with the use of
Thimerosal, a mercury containing preservative used in vaccines.
Mercury is a known toxin and is particularly dangerous to pregnant
women, infants and children. We do not solicit funds nor do we
accept donations. NoMercury does not manufacturer, sell,
endorse or promote any products or services. It is a labor of
love, in honor of our mercury poisoned child
We formulated
the concept in January 2004 as a tool to disseminate information
surrounding the use of Thimerosal. After learning our son had
mercury poisoning from his vaccines, we felt compelled to inform
others. We were never informed the vaccines contained mercury. We
did not know we were exposing him to one of the most toxic
substances on earth by following the recommended childhood
immunization schedule. As parents and as a medical family, we felt
blind-sided. We wanted to prevent this from happening to other
families
We believe
policy-makers and physicians need to be aware of the dangers of this
toxic substance. By being fully informed, they will be in a better
position to make sound decisions that are in the best interests of
children. As a former elected official, Lujene is familiar with the
political process and recognizes the importance of factual
information when making vital public policy decisions. Alan, as a
physician with more than 30 years experience, recognized the importance of
peer-reviewed, published studies that are timely and unbiased.
Scientific literature is heavily relied upon by physicians to make
sound clinical decisions that are in the best interests of the
patient. This website contains many peer-reviewed articles and
government documents; focusing not only on the clinical and
toxicological evidence, but the political and financial aspects of
public health policy making.
We
are not "anti-vaccine" rather we advocate for safer
vaccines. Immunizations can be vital to the health and well-being
of children. However, our public health officials have an
obligation to make those vaccines as safe as possible. We hope the
information contained on our website will help facilitate making
vaccines safer by calling for the removal of all toxic substances.
Mercury, a known neurotoxin, has no legitimate place in vaccines
intended for the most vulnerable of our society. By restoring the
public faith in the safety of vaccines (by actually making
them safer not just proclaiming them safe) we can begin to restore
the credibility and integrity of our National Immunization Program.
Parents, physicians and policy-makers must be able to trust the
program or it will fail. Denying a problem exists does not make it
go away. Only through honest dialogue, a pro-active plan to
eliminate toxic substances and a sincere effort in helping heal
those who have been harmed will faith, integrity and credibility be
restored. That is our ultimate goal. Americans deserve a National
Immunization Program that acts in the best interests of children by
advocating and ensuring vaccines are as safe as possible.
Sadly, Dr. Alan
Clark passed away on February 7, 2006 from cancer. One of his final
wishes was to see the work of NoMercury continue. It is in his
honor, and as his legacy, that we will continue this endeavor on
behalf of children worldwide. The Alan D. Clark, M.D. Memorial
Research Fund was established by his family to provide grants to
physicians and researchers striving to prevent and reverse the
devastating effects of mercury, particularly when used in medicine.
Donations may be made to the fund in care of US Bank, 2208 S. Grand
Avenue, Carthage, Missouri 64836. The fund is a private
endowment and not associated with NoMercury.
